Places
The landmarks, lookouts and hidden corners we still talk about at dinner.
The Floating Mountains
Thousands of sandstone pillars rising straight out of the forest. Every lookout was better than the last, and nobody could stop taking pictures.
Bailong Elevator
A glass elevator bolted to the side of a cliff, one of the tallest outdoor lifts in the world. Some of us looked out, some of us looked at our shoes.
Sensō-ji Temple
Red lanterns, busy stalls and incense drifting through the air. The perfect first morning in Tokyo.
Tokyo Dome
The big white dome all lit up at night. We came for the photo and stayed for the snacks.
Gyeongbokgung Palace
Huge stone courtyards with the mountains standing guard behind. Even better after we changed into hanbok.
Starfield Library
Bookshelves taller than a house. Craning our necks never felt so good.
A Day by the Lake
Wide open water, flower fields and a picture frame waiting for the perfect family pose.
